The Humboldt Area Jaycees presented their 3rd Annual Tractor and Truck Pull last Friday night on the City Airport road. The event started at 6:30 p.m. and the last tractor was pulled at approximately 5:00 a.m. The fans were all pleased with the fantastic show that was presented. The Northwest Missouri Tractor Pullers Association were featured and got the show started for the evening. They presented the following classes: 5200 Non Turbo, 5500 Hot Rod, 8200 Non Turbo, 8200 Pro Field, 5800 Modified Pickup, 7700 Super Farm, 5800 Pro Stock Pickup, 6200 Non Turbo, 6000 Hot Rod, 9200 Non Turbo, 9200 Pro Field, 6200 Modified Pickup, 8700 Super Farm, and 6200 Pro Stock Pickup. The NWMTPA show ended at approximately midnight and then it was the Farm Tractors and Truck show. Featured were over the road semis, 5800 Pickup, 8500 Farm Tractors, 9500 Non Turbo, 9500 Turbo, 10,500 lbs, 12,500 lbs, 15,500 lbs, 18,500 lbs. Tractors, and 6300 Pickup. The crowd was estimated at approximately 1,000 people, including the drivers, Jaycees, and fans. The Jaycees put a lot of hard work into putting on this event for the town of Humboldt. There were 71 generous donations received from area businesses. Humboldt sponsors were: Cardinal Mini Services, Humboldt Implement, Humboldt Specialty Mfg. Co., Lewis Implement, Pawnee Transfer, State Bank of Table Rock, Wilhelm Grain, American National Bank, Big H Variety, Blecha 66, Bob’s Auto Care, Fankhauser, Nelson & Werts PC, TierOne Bank, Humboldt Electric & Appliance, Jack and Jill, Merritt’s Discount Cabinets, Colonial Acres, Consolidated Nutrition, Farmers Coop Elevator, Humboldt Lumber Co., Humboldt Standard, Leech Insurance Agency, and Marburger’s Shoe Store. Donations were also received from neighboring towns including Auburn, Verdon, Dawson, Stella, Bern, Pawnee City, Falls City, Table Rock, DuBois, Seneca, and Elk Creek.
